This fabric is extremely stretchy!
Here are some tips for successfully sewing with this honeycomb knit.
Before making a garment, test sew a few samples using the suggestions below. Make each adjustment slowly until you find the best results.
- Reduce pressure on foot (sewing machine and sergers)
- Lengthen stitch.
- Set serger to high or greatest differential.
- Set cover stitch to high or greatest differential.
- By all means use straight tape on shoulder seams
- Also consider fine bias tape for neckline and armscyes.
- Do not press unless absolutely necessary!
Press only the edge when applying tape to Back shoulder seam.
Only press the edge when applying double sided tape to hems and when pressing hems up only press the hem.
To achieve proper top stitching control, flatten seam allowance with your hands while top stitching.
