    1. Great for accurate marking

No that I'm retired, I'm trying to get back into sewing for myself (not just Halloween costumes and Christmas aprons), so I signed-up for several Craftsy classes including one by Janet Pray. This is where I heard about the Chakoner marker. I have several types of chalk markers, but they all have something I don't like about them--many break easily under my hand, make too thick a line, are difficult to sharpener to a fine point, etc. I was intrigued by the Chakoner and bought a white one online. It gives a very fine line which I love, brushes off easily with the attached plastic brush, and marks right next to the edge of whatever measuring tool I"m using. I liked it well enough to buy a pink one. I will say, I almost called for a replacement the second time because it just didn't seem to work correctly, but it just needed more vigorous "priming" (like getting a new pen to start writing) than the first Chakoner and is now working fine. I cannot comment on ease of refilling yet. on 2nd Oct 2017

    2. Creates a clear straight or curved line in one stroke.

I have used pencils and tailors chalk to mark fabric and all of these require a 'sketching' technique to avoid shifting the fabric by pressing hard. Chakoner goes on smoothly (I've just been using it on needlecord) and even though the fabric is 'lumpy' Chakoner doesn't need pressure to apply the chalk. on 16th Aug 2016
